Hello SFPE Minnesota Members & Friends,
We are excited to meet for our kickoff to a new year! As we have done in the past, we are starting the season off by meeting at the Sprinkler Fitters Local 417 Union Hall. Join us for a dinner, drinks, a tour with demonstrations, and a short presentation. We hope to see you there!
Dinner and beverages will be provided. We will have a tour, then meet back in a training room for a short presentation.
We are not limited by registrations, but please try to be registered the Monday before the event so we can make sure to provide enough food and drinks. We hope to see you all there.

Brad Hopping
I’m the Training Director of Local 417 JATC with more than 30 years of experience as a Sprinkler Fitter. I’ve served as an instructor for 14 years and have led the program as director for the past decade. Beyond my role at Local 417, I’m actively involved with NFPA committees and various United Association assignments, including the UA’s Construction Technology Committee and teaching at the UA’s annual Instructor Training Program in Michigan. Through these efforts, I work to advance training standards, safety, and professional development in the fire protection trade, but especially turning out Journeyman Sprinkler Fitters that can be productive and knowledgeable in the industry they work.
Description:
Join us for an exclusive tour of the Local 417 Sprinkler Fitters Training Center. The tour will include a walkthrough of the classrooms, a display of historical sprinkler components, and the hands-on shop area where trainees practice real-world installations. There will even be some chances to get your hands dirty with some hands-on demonstrations. If we're lucky, the tour will also include a live demonstration of the facility’s fire pump and valve systems, showcasing how these critical components operate and are tested.
