Presentation Description:

Window Sprinklers & Water Curtains:
A Deeper Look into Sprinklers in Alternative Applications

Beyond the traditional use of sprinklers to protect life and property, there are other applications that sprinklers can be used for in order to expand what building designers and architects are allowed to do when laying out their buildings. This includes allowing for windows in rated walls without the need for fire-rated glass by utilizing special window sprinklers and enclosing large atriums with glass instead of rated enclosures. This presentation will go a little deeper into exploring the uses for sprinklers in these scenarios and review the history of how they have come to be. We will also have discussions on other possible ways that sprinklers might be used to get created when building fire-safe spaces.
